Young peoples champions

Are you aged between 16-25 and have SEND? Are you interested in taking part in a focus group that can make meaningful changes to your borough? Do you have ideas that on how you would like your Waltham Forest  to be?  

SENDIASS is in the middle of a very exciting period. We are looking for a few select young people to be our SENDIASS champions. You will be a helping us to make changes to our service that will help other like you. We have exciting things in planned for this role. You will be involved in designing our young peoples section on our website, Telling others about how SENDIASS can help them by meeting different schools and colleges, Have a chance to work with the team in the office and see what we get up to behind the scenes. And finally taking part in our young peoples steering group.

Young peoples champions are a group of young people with SEND who raise and tackle issues important to them, and develop a forum in which discussions around what can be done better in the community as well as contributing ideas in a safe place which will inform service developments and policy change in the borough.

We are looking for Young People with SEND between the ages of 16-25 who would be interested in taking part in being our SENDIASS champions.

The aim of the forum is to allow Young People the opportunity to have their voices heard and make a positive contribution in order to improve the SEND services for children and YP in the Borough. The information gathered through the forum will be fed back to the Local Authority and educational establishments which will inform policy change.
